In a new video on the campaign’s YouTube channel, Bob talks about the bailout plan and wonders why the Feds are just now trying to take on the issue when they’ve know about the problem for years.
Bob says it makes no sense to give them $1 trillion to do […]SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: “Video: Bob blasts bailout”, url: “http://blog.bobbarr2008.com/2008/09/30/video-bob-blasts-bailout/” });

As I wrote ealier today, Bob has been in Charleston, South Carolina campaigning. A couple of news stations already have stories online. The first comes from Live 5 News, a CBS affiliate:

Over at The American Spectator, Robert Stacy McCain joins the crowd pointing out that Bob Barr got it right on the bailout:
Members of Congress didn’t need to consult the polls to know how unpopular the bailout was — their phones were ringing off the hook with calls from citizens angrily opposed to the plan.

The Politico gives Monday to Bob Barr:
Didn’t see that one coming, did you?
Today’s bailout vote in the House embarrassed President Bush, the congressional leaders of both parties – and, to some extent, both major-party presidential candidates. Obama and McCain both endorsed the bailout proposal, and its failure to pass the House puts the two men […]SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: “Politico: Monday goes to Barr”, url: “http://blog.bobbarr2008.com/2008/09/30/politico-monday-goes-to-barr/” });

Bob Barr is a busy guy today:
Libertarian presidential candidate and former U.S. Rep. Bob Barr will make five campaign stops in Charleston today as he tries to drum up support for his long-shot bid. He also likely will talk a lot about the failure of the financial rescue bill — a bill that he opposed.

Bob appeared on Your Word w/Neil Cavuto this afternoon to discuss the failed bailout bill. Bob told Cavuto that he never bought into the dollar amount given by the Bush Administration, a number they admit they pulled out thin air, and believes it would be closer to $1 trillion. That is on top of the […]SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: “Video: Bob on Your World w/Neil Cavuto”, url: “http://blog.bobbarr2008.com/2008/09/29/video-bob-on-your-world-wneil-cavuto/” });

The New York Times notes that the House voted with Bob Barr:
The House has voted down the bailout bill, to everyone’s surprise.
So much for party discipline. This bill was supported by John McCain and Barack Obama, the presidential candidates who, between them, have the support of nearly every member of the House.
But a majority of […]SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: “House ignores McBama and votes with Barr”, url: “http://blog.bobbarr2008.com/2008/09/29/house-ignores-mcbama-and-votes-with-barr/” });
