Bob Barr as the Libertarian candidate would put a Democrat in the White House? So, what? No John McCain, great.

There is a lot of talk that Bob Barr is going to seek the nomination of the Libertarian Party.

First, Bob Barr is no Ron Paul. I might vote for him, but he just looks shady. I would lose the mustache. If you are running for president, you have a mustache, and it’s not the 19th century, you are not going to be president.

His involvement in the 1998 impeachment proceedings sort of turns me off as well. Even before hearing about his affair during this period. You can’t dislike McCain for hypocrisy then give Bob Barr a free pass.

Second, let’s say he does pull a lot of Ron Paul supporters, civil liberty focused Democrats, conservatives that hate McCain and some Independents. This could conceivably change the outcome if the race is as close as other recent contests and cost McCain the election.

Ummmm, OK. I can live with that, McCain probably would not even be my second choice anyway if I were forced to pick one.

So, run Bob, run and good luck. More choices than the two party bozos is always a good thing.
